Project 365: Week 16

Day 100: Ben and I decided that it was about time we started trying the many restaurants on London Road so we went to Little Hanoi earlier this week. We went with the intention of ordering new and interesting things we'd never had before. It was so nice and we ate everything with chopsticks. Also, I've discovered that I LOVE Vietnamese tea!

Day 101: Wahey the first bbq of the year! We had a lovely time round at Neil's where he and Alex hosted. We had a grand old evening thanks to the massive bowl of Pimms!

Day 102: At the weekend me and Alex had a good stroll around Sharrow Vale Market. Therenwere loads of fab stalls and we ended up eating far too many sugary treats including doughnuts, croissants, caramel slices, cannolis....etc haha!

Day 103: We met up again in my garden for some hooping. Woohoo I get to teach hooping to someone!

Day 104: It's been such nice weather recently that me and Ben decided we would pack up a picnic and go and sit in Endcliffe Park. It was lovely and I'm pretty sure Ben actually fell asleep at one point.
Day 105: Ben says we're going to be eating a hell of a lot of asparagus this month now that it's in season. This tea was beautiful.

Day 106: More hooping I'm afraid. I've been doing a lot of this lately with this glorious sun and I thought why not record my progress.

Project 365: Week 14

Day 86: The first few days of actual warmth and it's been so good.

Day 87: Garden gathering for Joe's 29th. Here's his 'birthday dog' face! It was a really nice night around the fire with everyone.

Day 88: I've been hooping in the garden loads since it's been nice and warm. Here's my 'isopop' which could do with being a tad straighter. I like how freaky my arm looks though!

Day 89: Easter Sunday! Ben got us some really good chocolate. A banoffee egg (what the hell!?) and some custard flavoured, egg shape chocolate slabs! Haha weird and wonderful!

Day 90: My first shift in the bakery and let's just say I could have done better.  It was really enjoyable, I got to spend all day with just myself and radio 6 music which is all I need, but it was hard! Anyway here's me bagging up the cookies.

Day 91: Love me some polka dots!

Day 92: Mmm creamy ghostly-ness!

Project 365: Week 11

Day 65: A big hunk of focaccia with olives and potato and loads of other stuff in it aswell from Seven Hills Bakery.

Day 66: Handmade by my sister, this cool crocheted cactus brooch! It's a one off at the moment but if you really like it I'm certain she'd custom make one for you. Her Etsy shop is here.

Day 67: As you've already seen I have firmly placed myself back in the ginger crew and had my bi-annual hair cut!

Day 68: Okay so polka dot dress was a write off, but I'm wiser going into my next project!

Day 69: I feel bad that I've only just got this framed and hung on the wall, six weeks before we move out, but I'm really glad it's up now. It's a housewarming gift from my friend Rebecca and it was made by her brother who's doing illustration at uni. Supporting independent artists oh yeah!

Day 70: Unfortunately the Friday hooping session has had to be cancelled so this weeks was the last one. It's been so much fun learning from Lizzy and it wont be the last time we hoop together I'm sure. She's pretty mesmerizing to watch (check her out in the vid below) and if you're in the Sheffield area and are looking to learn a new skill you should check her out.

Day 71: This hamper was brought back from Ben's parent's as a belated birthday present for me. It's full of lovely sewing things including a gorgeous pair of pinking shears.

Project 365: Week 10

Day 58: Tea, because who doesn't love tea, especially on a lovely sunny morning and another week off work!

Day 59: Speaking of sunshine, I've actually been putting my washing outside on the line! Wha?

Day 60: I've been in a wonderland of colour in one of the best fabric shops I've found.

Day 61: Newly listed item in my Etsy shop! Hand embroidered and framed poetry. It was framed by the same man that has been doing my mum and aunty's embroideries for the last 30 years and now he's framing mine! Go have a look and let me know what you think.

Day 62: I've started thinking about what artwork I could produce for the UK Coffee Week. Ended up painting Claire!

Day 63: Awesome day taking in the scenery with the gang at Stanage Edge.

Day 64: I really love to practice hooping while watching everyone go by through the window. Hopefully the video will work!

H-oopsie Daisy!

Guess what I've taken up? Go on, guess!

Let me tell you, a lot of photos didn't make it into this post! Most of these are a bit dodgy but some of them, oh man, so bad! And of course as soon as the self timer was on all my abilities seemed to evaporate. Not that I have many yet, I've only been to one class so far. It was such fun though!
I was surprised at how much of a work out it is. The class was only an hour but I must say I did break a serious sweat at one point.
I know it seems a bit pointless to try to show hula hooping through photos but hey ho, why not throw a few in anyway. If I could make gifs I would have, but they would only have shown it falling to the ground, many many times.

I saw something about it on Twitter the other day while on my break at work and thought it would be fun to try, so I went and signed up at the end of the day. I'm in a hoop dance class so I'm learning the skills and tricks whereas there are some that are just for fitness.
I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a new hobby to take up and don't mind being bruised all over!
