Sorrento, Italy: Part Two

I figured I would skip the latest Project 365 post seeing as we were on holiday for the whole week and these two Italy posts are gonna show the photos anyway. So here's part two!

Florence + Me

As you know from my recent post about York, I met up with my old school friend, and one of my best mates Florence. I haven't seen her since she stopped over for a night just after my birthday in February. It was just after I'd had food poisoning and was still feeling a bit crappy so we didn't end up going anywhere or having any adventures.
This time though, all was well and the sun was shining on us. We were together again in York, just like the good old days. I can't believe it was 10 years ago that we were first hanging out in York.

We went for lunch at the Evil Eye on Stonegate where we sat, ate and listened to each others troubles. It's a really cool place, we used to always end up there at some point during a night out in York. It's very colourful and bohemian and very dark at the same time. It even has big wooden four poster beds in the room.

Afterwards we caught the bus, the old Selby 415, to Barlby where she's back living with her parents at the moment and where I lived for six years during high school.
Everything was such a blast from the past. Being on the 415, seeing Barlby and how little it's changed, Florence's house itself! Her house is my all time favourite. I thought I had a lot of house plants but her mum and dad are on the next level! Everything is so colourful and bright, some walls are bright green, some are blue. One room has a bright yellow floor which I love! It was just so good to be back.

We went to sit in the garden where she showed me her two new guinea pigs, Thunder (balls) and Lightning.

It was so strange to be back in a place I lived for so long but hadn't seen for about five years. She and her dad Mick gave me a lift back up to York to get my train. He's really cool too, he's a big Dylan Thomas fan like me and we always end up talking about blues music or Bob Dylan.
I can't wait to plan more with Florence soon, she's going back to visit her friends in California for three months in October so hopefully there'll be some summer adventures to be had!

Project 365: Week 21

Day 135: I've started filming myself playing the banjo and guitar recently (see instagram) just as a way to document it I suppose and it'll be nice for my children/grandchildren to see photos of me doing everyday things such as this.

Day 136: I can't remember if I've mentioned this before or not but I'm the new 'great place to work' rep at work (LOL) and therefore have to get people enthusiastic about things they don't give a crap about. (It's secretly quite fun) At the moment we've got our colleague of the year/Love Awards happening and I've been the promoter for it. The extent of my efforts was to put wrapping paper around a box and hang it up. It's actually full of votes though!!

Day 137: The gang at Ashoka for Ben and Sidd's birthday meal!

Day 138: Spent the afternoon with Alex sat sipping tea and eating muffins in her garden in the sun. Lovely!

Day 139: I had the best time out at the leaving do for some colleagues and friends of mine. I absolutely love these guys! Ben (on the left) you're right when you say it's the end of an era, more nights out like this to come soon though!

Day 140: ...the next day was a bit of a write off! Ha!

Day 141: More beautiful days have been and gone. It's currently chucking it down as I write this.

Hope you're having a good week.

Project 365: Week 20

Day 128: Most of the afternoons this week have been spent sitting outside which has been so nice. It's actually been quite hot! Ben's made a start on gardening, here he is getting the herbs in. He also found some pretty cute bugs for me.

Day 129: Alex's mum is pretty nifty on the old sewing front and makes these lovely rosebud pin cushions that you can wear on your wrist. She made this one for me and it just so happens to go perfectly with my nails!
Day 130: Me and Alex went to check out the blacksmith fair that was on at the Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet.

Day 131: Meersbrook park hill is a nightmare to run up, it absolutely killed me! But when I got to the top and turned round, this view of the city made it all worth it.

Day 132: This is a snap I got of the neighbour's dog who will bark and coo at me if I do anything other than fuss it when I'm sat out on my front step.

Day 133: I came home from work the other day to find our front door had taken on a whole new look. I've always wanted a yellow front door and now we have one!

Day 134: It was Nathan's last day at work today, he's the baker. So for one last celebration he molded together loads of cookies to make a big ice cream cookie pie!!
