It's Cold Out There

A new coat has been well over due for a while now. I was looking for one over summer but thought it was too early to get one as I may have changed my mind about it or seen a better one by the time coat weather came around. I don't know why I thought that actually seeing as I'm the kind of person who has one coat for about 3 or 4 years. I usually keep one until it falls to bits or I grow to hate it.

So here's my lovely, snuggly new one from Miss Selfridge. I'm showcasing it with my vintage style shorts (it's not a skirt!) from Miss Patina which I nabbed off Ebay. Miss Patina is one of those brand's that I think is really me. They've got loads of lovely pieces.
The tunic/shirt you've seen before here.

And finally, the beret is officially out and about for winter!

PS - slightly blonder?!

Snapshots from October 2014

Hello November! Let us reminisce..

Oh God yeah, that 10k I did. Go me! Haven't actually run since then, oops.

Pretty pumpkins and squashes in at Sharrow Marrow.

I stopped working, got my phone and went outside to take this photo which, as lovely as it is, doesn't do it justice. Sky photos never do, do they!? But it was wonderful!

Visiting Beth in Loughborough where we recorded a whole album of terrible covers!

We ventured into Nottingham to see a poetry reading that neither of us were really moved by, too modern for us.
We saw some cool things while we were walking around though, check out the lovely Art Nouveau on that building and the big weird dish!
Also, Beth has this really cool plant on her kitchen window sill. It's a False Shamrock and in the daytime it's purple petals open out and then fold back into little triangles at night. So cool.

Re stocked my cards in their little box in Bird's Yard in town. Check 'em out.

Mum had the big 61. 10th of the 10th at 10 past 10!

At last! Parsnips are back in which means homely parsnip soup on a cold evening.

Got all the decorations up!

..and made some new ones!

And finally, Halloween itself. I was going to go as Pat Garrett but it turns out the event we went to had a '40's theme with a halloween twist'. Oh my it was amazing, such a good night. A bunch of us got bee-hived (not very 40's but oh well) and went to a secret gig to see Rob Heron And The Tea Pad Orchestra. These guys blew me away. Pokey LaFarge meets Blind Willie McTell and they looked the part too!

You should definitely check them out.

In Other News

I'm going to arrange an induction at the Sheffield Print Club when I've got a free weekend. I've got loads of ideas for prints I want to do so I'll hopefully get going with that this month.

Hope you've had a grand time too!

Autumn Wardrobe Wishlist

A new season is upon us, which means it's time to hang up our bright colours, sunny florals and cute sandals and appreciate them once again as we merely flick past and reach for the woolens. Or not, of course you can wear whatever you want, whenever you want! If you wanna keep rocking the crop tops throughout the rest of the year then go for it, you may regret it but whatever, just do you!

But it is undeniably getting darker earlier and so my style shall follow suit. It's jumpers, coats, jeans and boots season and I for one couldn't be happier! So much so that I've been dreaming up my autumn wardrobe wishlist. So here we go, I've only done two otherwise this post would have been never ending. This first one I'm calling Autumn Chic, ooh la la!

Autumn Wardrobe Wishlist: Autumn Chic

Some of the outfit details are made up of similar items I've found that are more £ than £££...

2.  Rosaspina Vintage Girda skirt in chestnut
3.  Timberland Earthkeepers Chukka Boots
4.  Modcloth mustard yellow tights
6.  Forever 21 wool beret

This in my opinion is the best and easiest time of the year to dress chic. High necklines, long sleeves and a beret sounds perfect to me! I love to add a burst of colour to a dark outfit with jewellery and turquoise has to be my favourite. The colour palette of this outfit is just gorgeous, and it reminds me, I must get myself some mustard tights!

and number two:

Autumn Wardrobe Wishlist: Seasonal Colours

1.  Yumi tweet tweet shirt
2.  Lucky Brand lace front boots
3.  Hobbs tian skirt
4.  Zac Zac Posen leather bag
5.  Black Five lapel coat

This one is so October. The last of the green leaves making way for halloween. (Eee halloween!) This, I would say, is my kind of casual. I'd like to think that the Lauren Bacall in me wouldn't tolerate anything more casual than this (although she definitely does).
Anyhoo, I really need that bag!

So what autumn styles have you been dreaming up?
