Back To The Bob

Hey guys, I lost all my hair!

I went to Parachute for my bi annual hair cut. This is the result and I couldn't be happier with it. I've had a good four inches or so off and it feels great. Just in time for our holiday in a few weeks!

I'm growing all my natural colour out as you can probably see. It's coming along nicely and after having such a big chunk cut off it's on it's way to looking dip dyed now!

I'm channeling some serious mod vibes here in my new jumper from H&M, I freaking love mustard yellow, with an old navy woolen skirt from Topshop.

Project 365: Week 6

Day 36: Been to mum's again so naturally there's a dog photo. This time it's Toby again sitting on the back of the settee for some reason.

Day 37: Lazy morning done right.

Day 38: Took some outfit photos in overpowering sunlight. I did like how I got my hair to sit that day though.

Day 39: Cute as hell mushrooms!

Day 40: Obligatory dinner photo. It's not often these days that me, mum and my sister Sophie are all together. It was nice!

Day 41: Coffee and cake with Ben at the lovely Marmaduke's cafe.

Day 42: Must have looked a right wally painting my purple shampoo onto my yellow roots!

Patterns + A Pinafore

Wow what's this, an outfit post? Not done one of these for ages. I've been in a bit of a blogging slump lately but me and Alex have joined forces for a blog day and been...successful, kind of. If drinking tea and eating biscuits is considered successful. Which of course it is. Anyway, I was lying in bed recently when I pieced together this outfit in my head. Of course! that pinafore dress would look good with a patterned blouse beneath it! Of course! Orla Kiely blouse!
Some serious vintage vibes going off here with my mum's latest find, this 1920's parasol. It's so delicate and pretty and looks lovely in the sunshine.

I'm wearing this with my Bertie Brogues that Ben got me for Christmas. They're such good quality. My mum always says you should always be well shod because that's where you touch the Earth and the elements! The only downside to them is that they have absolutely no grip at all, that's why I've not been wearing them while we've had such a lot of snow and ice.

On another note, you'll have to excuse my latest hair disaster. I put a platinum dye on to do my really dark roots, didn't leave it on long enough even though I left it on longer than it said to, and so the roots are now yellow. To add to that I forgot to bring any toner to my mum's house so it's totally untoned. Ah well I'll get some tomorrow and just have weird yellow roots next to white hair! I must say though, there's a lot to be said for silver shampoo. I used some this morning just on my fringe and it's noticeably less yellow than the rest of it. I really would recommend a silver shampoo if you're blonde or white.

Blouse - Orla Kiely Old from Ebay
Pinafore Dress - H&M Old
Shoes - Bertie

Ps. I've got two weeks off work now for my birthday, wahoo!! So I'll have more time for some new posts I've got lined up.

Hope you're having a good weekend.

Project 365: Week 5

Day 29: We've had some serious snow around these parts!

Day 30: Whoopsy, found a Christmas present for Ben from his Grandparents under the bed!

Day 31: CHRIST look at those roots. They'll be dealt with this weekend methinks. That's one whole month of growth.

Day 32: Little Tobe having a snuggle down on the settee at mum's.

Day 33: I was at my mum's for a craft weekend with my niece Holly. She's only got one brother so she loved having a girly weekend with us!

Day 34: I'm so bummed that this is such bad quality and I'm gonna try to get another one, but I love seeing the sunrise above the building tops when I get to work.

Day 35: Found a really sweet, old grave yard in Doncaster.

Snapshots from January 2015

This must be one of the first years that I've thought January has gone quite slowly. Normally it flies by without me noticing but it feels like it's been twice as long! I'm excited for February though, it's my 24th this month!!

On the 3rd I finally took the plunge and tried blonde. Sure as hell doesn't look like this anymore!

I found an old report/project thing that my mum did on handwriting. (She's a calligrapher remember?). This is one of the sheets from it.

Had some quality alone time in that cool run down barn that I found in York.

Started my Project 365 which to be honest so far has been mostly pictures of pancakes. I ain't complaining. You can see weeks one, two, three and four if you missed them.

I've started making these embroideries. I've taken a few to be framed so it shouldn't be long until they're in my Etsy shop. I'll be doing a post on them soon.

Had an awesome adventure weekend with Beth!

In Other News

I had a film from my Konica Minolta developed the other day. I'm kicking myself again for not using it enough because there are photos on there from August. It's nice to have them but I don't look anything like how I do on them now! For one my hair is twice as long and a different colour.
Anyway, here are a few of them for good measure...

Only twelve days left of being 23!

Blonde On Blonde

Finally I've made it! I have indeed put blonde onto blonde. Well, not me, Stuart at Laundry did it - and a bloody good job he did too getting rid of all that yellow! Just don't ask me how much I paid, let's just say it better look expensive!
Pearl blonde has been the bane of my life for a while now as you all know. It's been a long journey but I've done it, and I love it.
I'm a bit surprised at myself to be honest. This is a far cry from my staple copper locks. It's been floating in the back of my mind to try blonde for a while. I'm sure you know what it's like when you get a craving to try a different colour. You just have to.

I need to do a serious conditioning treatment tonight though, it's pretty dry. Also, how freaking painful is it to sit under those heat things with peroxide on your head!? Ya better believe I've suffered for this!

I'm following in my mum's (and aunty's) footsteps with this colour, she's been dying her hair blonde almost all her life. So I've put together some photo's of her from being 17 to 30 odd to honour her as being the inspiration for my new 'do!

Ahh, now to wait for the inevitable fade to brassiness and dark roots.
