The Creative Directory: Prints N Patterns

In a sentence:
Take an inherited vintage sewing machine, a love of striking fabrics and of course a hell of a lot of time and you get the handmade pouches and of Prints N Patterns.

Sample the goods:

Red Chevron Herringbone Large Cosmetic Pouch

Blue Elephants by Kokka Pencil Case

 My favourite:

Lined Paper Fabric Pencil Case
I really like this one because at first sight I thought it was just an unusual fabric made into a pouch but it's actually been machine embroidered to look like lined paper and then the message has been hand stitched on. How quirky! It's such a good idea and looks fab.

Why:
Yoke is from Singapore and like many of us, has sat down at her sewing machine and created something from nothing. That something ended up being these bright and brilliant pouches and bags. They're made with fabrics by different designers and are chosen for their bold and colourful patterns.
They've naturally become very popular and so she's been shipping them off all over the world. So hello independent maker, consider yourself supported!

Project 365: Week 10

Day 58: Tea, because who doesn't love tea, especially on a lovely sunny morning and another week off work!

Day 59: Speaking of sunshine, I've actually been putting my washing outside on the line! Wha?

Day 60: I've been in a wonderland of colour in one of the best fabric shops I've found.

Day 61: Newly listed item in my Etsy shop! Hand embroidered and framed poetry. It was framed by the same man that has been doing my mum and aunty's embroideries for the last 30 years and now he's framing mine! Go have a look and let me know what you think.

Day 62: I've started thinking about what artwork I could produce for the UK Coffee Week. Ended up painting Claire!

Day 63: Awesome day taking in the scenery with the gang at Stanage Edge.

Day 64: I really love to practice hooping while watching everyone go by through the window. Hopefully the video will work!

Project 365: Week 8

Day 44: Ben brings back all kinds of weird and wonderful plants and flowers from the wholesale markets. This one's a yellow Mimosa.

Day 45: Beautiful colours in the sky.

Day 46: Apparently my mug at work was smashed while I was on holiday but the culprit was nice enough to replace it!

Day 47: Took my car to be serviced in York and had a few hours spare before meeting up with my dad and sister so I popped in for a sugary breakfast at Spring Espresso.

Day 48: I've been on a mission lately to stock up on fabric and sewing patterns. Look at this beauteous sight!!

Day 49: ...and after visiting a few more fabric shops I have a nice little collection to begin with.

Day 50: House hunting with Nikki. Fingers crossed we'll all end up living near each other.

Hope your weeks going well!
